Announcing a QUARTERLY Research Series August - October, 2016
DEADLINE EXTENDED now due SEPTEMBER 9th, 2016
Young Lungs Dance Exchange is continually revisiting and improving the services it offers to remain responsive to the changing motivations and inspirations of the community around it.
As experimentation is essential to artistic practice, YLDE invests much of its energy into producing The Research Series. This past year, additional components were incorporated which included peer-to-peer observation, creator classes, and an endnote address & roundtable discussion, including the presentation of an essay by a commissioned academic reflecting on the process.
This year Young Lungs will be facilitating the series all year long! Each quarter will see three new artistic research teams: a total of twelve for the year running August 2016 - July 2017. Also exciting is the carrying forward of the commissioned essay. Through out the year four writers and four photographers will participate in the discourse and present their own work based on the research during the series in written and photographic essays. Find last research series' thought-provoking essay written by a. charlie peters here.
