and Positive Growth
Including information on respectful workplace policies and
the Canadian Alliance of Dance Artists
Facilitated by D-Anne Kuby
Wednesday, January 11th, 7:30-9:30pm
At Fools & Horses, 379 Broadway
How are we all doing? How are we supporting each other? How are we not? How can we do better? Very often, dance artists work for small organizations without human resource departments or equality officers and therefore they are unsure of where to turn for help when they find themselves in uncomfortable working conditions. It has become apparent that we need to better understand what resources we all have and don't have access to with regard to seeking guidance and assistance when faced with difficult situations in the workplace.
It is imperative that we work together to make art in an inclusive and supportive environment and it is our hope that this meeting will start conversations that can help make this happen.
About the Facilitator:
Over the years D-Anne Kuby has played many different roles in the dance world. For this meeting she will be drawing from her four years of experience as administrator for the BC Chapter of the Canadian Alliance of Dance Artists, and information recently gathered from the Winnipeg Art Gallery’s Human Resources Manager Mike Malyk.
